OUR FIGHT

  • From last 9 years we have challenged blindness from it's root by conducting over 2000 camps throughout Karnataka to spread our message against blindness.
  • We have covered all sectors including schools, corporates, industrial sector BMTC and government offices in order to disseminate our message.
  • We are proud to say that we have successfully convinced 10000 people to pelage their eyes and take a step into a bright future.
  • This was done by conducting awareness camps and helping people walk away from stigmas and stereotypes which they had about eye donation.
current condition

  • Of the 37 million people across the globe who are over 15 million are from India.
  • Out of these 15 million, 75% are avoidable blindness.
  • The blind population in India is estimated to rise 20% by the year 2025 with cataract being the highest cause of blindness.
  • India needs 2.3 lakhs of eye donation but manages to collect only 25,000 out of which 30% are unusable.

BLINDESS COMES WITH IGNORANCE
  • In our experience we have found that many workers don't know that they are suffering from blindness.
  • This effects their day to day functioning and their quality of life.
  • These people can be hazardous to the workplace and they hinder the output growth of the company.
  • Many workers lose their vision in workplace accidents everyday.
  • Children suffer in academics as they are unable to see the blackboard.
  • This makes eye checking even more important in today's fast moving world.

STEPS TOWARDS A BRIGHT FUTURE

  • Taking this enthusiasm forward these simple procedures can be incorporated to fight blindness.
  • Mandatory eye check up in schools and corporates every year Setting up more teams to cover more ground area, both Urban and Rural.
  • Government has a huge role to play by: Setting up mobile hospitals in remote areas.
  • Proving surgeries and medicines at a subsidized cost.

THE GIFT OF SIGHT

  • Controlling blindness is a long process however, we can minimize it by giving people a gift of sight.
  • Eye donation camps are important and should be widely done in all the sectors.
  • Many people don't donate eyes due to lack of knowledge and false assumptions.
  • It is our duty to educate them and help them understand the important of sight.
